Getting to the Farm

Our wedding is taking place on Maggie's mom's family farm. What we call the farm is made up of two houses that have been in the family for generations and the corn and bean fields that go with them.

Illiana Farm
Twin Oaks Farm

Illiana Farm has been in the family since it was built in 1863 (it got its name because it is right on the Illinois/Indiana state line). This is where Maggie's great-grandparents lived for a long time, but is now owned by her Uncle David. Built several decades later just a quarter mile down the road is Twin Oaks Farm. This is where Maggie's mom grew up, and her parents now live there again. Both of the oaks went down in tornadoes in the '90s!

Maggie has spent many summers on the farm and can't wait to share all the best parts with everyone at the wedding... sweet corn, tomatoes, wiffle ball, long summer nights, roadside fireworks, good music, and spending quality time with quality people.

An Important Note about Time Zones

Because the farm is literally on the state line, we will be constantly be going between Eastern time (Indiana) and Central time (Illinois). This may cause your phone to go crazy, so we recommend a wristwatch or locking your phone clock to Eastern time (EDT). All of the times in our schedule are based on Eastern time!

Travel

If you'll be driving directly to the wedding, Dana, Indiana is the closest town to the wedding ceremony and reception.

If you'll be flying and then picking up a car, you have 5 main options: Indianapolis (~1.5 hours to farm), Willard (~1 hour to farm), O'Hare (~4 hours to farm), Midway (~4 hours to farm), or St. Louis (~4 hours to farm). Indianapolis is usually the most practical in terms of flight options and distance to the farm.

Note that Uber and taxis are nonexistent on the farm and in Dana so you'll want to rent a car for the weekend or carpool with a pal. Some of our friends have had good luck renting a car relatively cheaply using the service Turo.

We don't plan on having a shuttle service since everyone will be staying across different locations, but will have some cars available in a pinch. We hope you'll party hard with us at the reception and promise you'll have all the time you need to sober up.

Accommodations

The closest town with standard accommodations is Paris, Illinois, but we also recommend checking out Rockville, Indiana for motels. If you're flying into Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Indiana has a wide range of options including Airbnbs (it's about 35 minutes from the farm). If you're flying into Chicago, consider looking in Danville, Illinois for a range of options (about 40 minutes from the farm).

Alternatively, if you would like to camp in the yard at the farm, you are more than welcome to - but please bring your own tent! We'll have some nice rental restrooms that you can make use of, and we can hose you off in the yard if you feel like you need a shower.

If you have any questions whatsoever, please let us know - we can help you figure out if there are others who might like to carpool or stay near you.

Map

We've created a map that calls out important locations related to the wedding, hotel suggestions, and other things you might want to experience while you're in central Illinois and Indiana.
